ChileBear
Wow, didn't see that coming. I guesss the new OL guy they picked up can be our back up to Kruetz.
Daventry
That is surprising, the impression I have had is he is a solid all-round guy. Maybe Tice does not agree?
LT2_3
Something Kramer mentioned during one of the preseason games was that the new offense uses a different type of snap count that he appeared to be struggling with - as in he wasn't getting off the ball on the snap and was constantly being pushed back. I'm not too worried about it. We picked up that guy from Washington and Garza can play center too.

Read on theTrib that Tice prefers bigger guys and that Beekman was undersized.
bowlingtwig
Read on theTrib that Tice prefers bigger guys and that Beekman was undersized. If that is true I can understand it then. But this did come as a bit of a shock considering his flexibility to play mulitple positions.
bradjock
This is an odd move for a few reasons: 1. He's started most games the past two seasons and he plays all 3 inside-line positions. 2. We are replacing him with two unproven players in Asiata & Louis. Asiata wasn't drafted & Louis was a 7th round pick. That scares me. 3. He was the heir apparant to Olin Kreutz.
AZ54
I'm not surprised at all after I reviewed the second preseason game, in fact I said as much that he'd likely get cut unless he improved dramatically . Louis already is a better OG than Beekman. IMO Beekman was mainly being kept around as our future Center. This preseason he looked really bad at Center and if he's not big enough (strong enough/good enough) to play well at OG why keep him around? I didn't see much from Asiata though to make me confident he is ready to play but I didn't watch him as much as I did Beekman. I will say that I have a heck of a lot more confidence in Tice than I ever had in Harry Heistad.

Which I believe everyone at Halas Hall is as well because they all understand they must perform well this year or else.
