Green Bay GB is decimated with injuries, currently 3-2, and has the following left: MIA, MIN, NYJ, DAL, MIN, ATL, SF, DET, NE, NYG, CHI That's 8 tough games left, without even counting a dangerous Dallas team, an improving Detroit team, and an underperforming SF team. GB could feasibly finish with 4 or 5 more losses, easily, and finish just on the outside of a wild card birth. Minnesota Sitting at 1-3 with the following left: DAL, GB, NE, ARI, CHI, GB, WAS, NYG, CHI, PHI, DET That's 8 tough games for them as well. And since Fartve isn't having a miracle year like last year, they will probably do worse than GB. Probably 5 or 6 losses, finishing 7-9 or so, out of the playoff race. That leads me to this... Chicago has SEA, WAS, BUF, MIN, MIA, PHI, DET, NE, MIN, NYJ, GB Just like the others, 8 tough games left. But the Bears have already beaten GB, and I think the Bears are just an overall better team right now. The odds are that the Bears will win the division (barring the extraordinary). My only beef with him has been that the defense, which is supposed to be his baby, has been in a skid since he canned Ron Rivera. If he's finally sorted that out, I've got no issue with him staying on as head coach. Now, Jerry Angelo on the other hand, I hope gets fired tomorrow. This team is going to have a lot more seasons like 2007-2009 with Angelo at the controls on draft day. Here's a fun fact: in the 2003-2010 drafts, Angelo spent 14 picks on defensive linemen. 7 of those picks were in rounds 1-3. Of those 7, three are out of football (Michael Haynes, Dan Bazuin, Dusty Dvoracek,) one is on a practice squad (Jarron Gilbert,) and two are currently not starting due to poor performance (Tommie Harris and Marcus Harrison.) Angelo spent seven first-day picks on d-line and got ONE current starter out of it: Tank Johnson. Who is no longer a Bear. Meanwhile, the Bears' ENTIRE starting defensive line is composed of players Angelo didn't draft: Idonije, Adams, Toeaina, Peppers. madlithuanian Posted October 13, 2010 Report Share Posted October 13, 2010 I believe so. The powers that be, don't want to factor in the gory detail of how we got there...just that we got there. And, to some extent, I can't blame them. However, I would like them to factor in 3 seasons of missing the playoffs... With that said, the smart thing to do would be to simply keep him. He's on contract for another year. If he does great again next year, then you extend, but only for 2 more years. If he doesn't like it, he can go elsewhere. Odds are he'll stay. It may cost a little more money...but it's probably negligible and one would hope he'd cut the Bears a bit of break since they did him up so well after the SB. I personally want him gone regardless, but I'll be happy to deal with him if he wins the SB this year... Or at least makes a valiant run at it w/o stupid errors. With that said, does winning the division guarantee Lovie stays? <_> Yes, winning the Division in a year where we were projected to finish 3rd would be a success - and save Lovie's job. Minnesota will be out of it by Week 8, they have DAL, at GB, then NE in the next 3 weeks. Favre looks old and tired more than ever and they already had their Bye Week. The added stress of his off-field problems can't help either. It is crazy how far they have fallen since the NFC Championship. Jared Allen with only 1 sack? Green Bay is destroyed with injuries, and they don't have an "easy" game until SF in Week 13. The best possible record I could see them having is 10-6, and that is with everything going their way.
