Greg Olsen

Featured Replies

In the six games since the bye week Olsen has the following stats:

23 targets

13 catches

120 yards

3 TDs

And it appears to be getting worse. In the last three games?

3 targets

3 catches

Martz is severely underutilizing a dangerous pass-catching TE. And we all called it at the beginning of the year. I was hoping it wouldn't happen, but it appears that the trend continues.

And I could honestly care less, since those have been our best games of the season, sans last weeks disaster. Jay spreads the ball around so if Olsen is getting open, he'll get the ball.

Olsen has been a much improved blocker (outside of last week) though.

As long as they win, I couldn't give a shit if they threw to Rashied Davis 15 times a game. Winning ugly still counts as wins.

Could the fewer targets be related to him being held in to block more often, to keep the QB alive?

It doesn't matter to me. Like someone said, I don't care if Manumaleuna is getting catches as long as at the end of the game, the Bears have 1 or more points than the opponent.

We've all had our opinions on Olsen. Personally, I think he half-asses his playing time anyhow, whether it's missing blocks (though I must admitt, he's improved), being lazy with his hands, or not diving/jumping for a ball.

His 3 TDs in that span is actually pretty good. On pace for 9 in a season. The 13 catches isnt' impressive though.
