BearsFan1974
As bad as we have looked in 2 of our losses (NYG and GB), we were still in both games. vs NYG - 9 sacks in the 1st half yet we were only down 3-0 at the half vs GB - 6 sacks and an Offensive Offense and we only lost 10-3 Even vs Dallas when we got our asses handed to us on the first couple of series, we buckled down, adjusted, and got the win. I am very optimistic going into the playoffs. Our Defense is playing well, even if we didn't get the pressure on Rodgers we wanted, we still held them to 10. I am going to say something that I hope I won't regret...I have faith in Martz, Tice, and Lovie to fix the problems that occured against GB. I believe our line play will be better than average, more running plays will be called, and I believe Knox will get open more. Bottom line is this, Gentlemen, we have a chance to win. Anything can happen and the first step is getting in the playoffs and we are there and we'll be at home. Like Lith said in his thread, we can beat any team in the NFC. No teams stand out as an overwhelming matchup for us. Seahawks- Let's face it we owe them one. A playoff atmoshpere is a lot different than a Week 6 one. Plus Martz is smarter since Week 6 Packers- We've had our way with them for a while now and we owe them one too Eagles- We control Vick. Saints- Being outside will slow them down considerably and they aren't nearly as dominant as last year Falcons- Lovie needs to take this game personal. Remember his poor decision making a few years back? He needs to remember. Let's win this f'n thing, whatcha say, guys?
madlithuanian
Absolutely. Honestly, anyone in the NFC besides the Shehawks have a shot at going to the big gig. So, why not us? All we have to do is piece 3 good games together now. Shouldn't be that tough... We can win against all these teams, Martz needs to run the ball and the Oline give Cutler some time. If those two things happen Bears WIN. The D can keep us in any game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember his poor decision making a few years back? He needs to remember. Let's win this f'n thing, whatcha say, guys? Well, based on the format, we will get the best team from the WC round, so that will be either NO or PHI. The only way we get GB is if SEA and GB both win, which is very unlikely. Now based on that, we already beat Vick and will have him at home again. For NO, they just put Ivory on IR, so they will have less of a running attack and will be playing in Chicago. I believe both of these matches are favorable for us with a week off. For the NFC Championship, we are only on the road vs Atlanta, and would be at home vs NO (if they and PHI won the WC round) or GB (if they and NO won the WC round). So we can only play GB in the NFC Championship, and can only play PHI in the Divisional Round, and can play NO in either round depending on who win the PHI/GB game. For some reason I am starting to think ATL is going to lose, and a win for us gives us a home game for the NFC Championship. At that point I would have to say "why not us?" Ed Hochuli 3:16
There is not 1 team in the NFC playoffs that scare me. Seahawks- all 9 losses were by 15+ points. Saints- the Bears have beaten them every year they've played them since 2005 (IIRC). Falcons- it'll be tough going to the Georgia Dome but they aren't unbeatable. Packers- beat Chicago 10-3 in a MUST WIN HOME GAME by a measly 7 points and the Bears beat them in Chicago. Eagles- Vick is getting beat up (hasn't played a full season since 2006) and their OL is swiss cheese. So f*** it, why not the Bears? madlithuanian
I basically agree. None of them scare me. Our team scares me. I really feel like in the NFC, we have the potential to be our own worst enemy vs the group we're up against. There is not 1 team in the NFC playoffs that scare me. "Our team scares me." True. Very true. If the offensive line doesn't implode, this team, despite its flaws, can beat any of the potential opponents in the NFC.
