defiantgiant
Hmmm, that's worrisome. The front office must be really confident that his value around the league isn't very high. From Hanie's comments, it sounds like he wouldn't hesitate to leave for a team that'd make him the #2 QB, and I can think of several teams that have worse backup QBs. The Colts have Curtis Painter backing up Peyton, and Ron Turner's their QBs coach now...I could see them making an offer to Hanie. I hope the Bears can retain him - I like him a lot as a long-term backup to Cutler.
madlithuanian
Agreed. I too like Hanie and want to keep him. Martz worries me on who he wants. Martz just needs to coach and not ask for people... He's prvoen crummy with that this past year. (Collins, Manumaleuseless) Hmmm, that's worrisome. (Collins, Manumaleuseless) I don't entirely blame Martz for Collins; I think Collins was an emergency pickup, rather than a guy Martz really coveted. We were kicking the tires on any vets who'd ever played in a system similar to Martz's...I think he just wanted somebody who knew the offense. Collins was just about the last guy on the list after everybody else said no. But presumably Hanie knows the offense now, so why wouldn't they try to hang onto him as the #2? Especially since Collins proved that he doesn't have anything left. I don't get it.
xvflutop
the question that remains, is there a team out there that is willing to over pay hanie so the bears don't match?
