Ed Hochuli 3:16
vaughn mcclure @vxmcclure23 Three different people at Senior Bowl mentioned Stevie Johnson and the Bears in same sentence. Hes been working on new deal with Bills. vaughn mcclure @vxmcclure23 Johnson is represented by same agent (C.J. LaBoy) as Bears receiver Earl Bennett, who got a sweet four-year, $18 mil contract. Not a bad option, IMO. However, I'd rather sign Bowe or Jackson, or trade for Marshall before I signed Johnson. Supposedly, he wants anywhere from $7-8m, which is a lot for a guy like him. I don't think he's playing with a full deck, and he is very inconsistent. (yes, I know Marshall is psycho and has inconsistent hands as well, but he has proved to be dominant with Cutler)

I have also heard he is sorta kinda crazy!

DABEARSDABOMB
Really? I agree with you. There is no way he isn't a top 5 wideout in this market. If it weren't for the fact he's stuck in Buffalo, he'd be getting more love. Bowe and Jackson are both better and I suppose you could say Desean Jackson is as well, but outside of that, I can't see anyone else on the level of a Johnson. Marshall is crazy, Johnson is just suspected to be crazy.
adam
Really? I know some might be franchised and/or re-signed, but here are a few: Welker, Colston, Bowe, V. Jackson, Wallace, Wayne and then the next tier would be guys like: Lloyd, Simpson, D. Jackson, Meachem I would say Johnson is somewhere in between those two groups, and his antics are on par with Ocho and TO.

Bears4Ever_34
This could be more leverage than anything from Johnson's side. I wouldn't mind him if he was sort of a last option. I prefer Bowe, Jackson, Colston, and Finley over him.
DABEARSDABOMB
I had completely forgotten Colston. He's clearly better than Johnson. But Wayne and all others are different.

(yes, I know Marshall is psycho and has inconsistent hands as well, but he has proved to be dominant with Cutler) I have read some reports on NFL.com that have Marshall recruiting Flynn to come to Miami and be their QB. If that is true it tells me 2 things: 1. I wouldn't trade for a guy who is trying to bring players to his team 2. He must be happy with what the new coach who is used to coaching a fleet of WRs is telling him so far. When Philbin gives his GM his wish list you have to believe that Marshall is on it. You wouldn't want to trade for a guy who actively recruits players that could make his team better? Marshall is under contract, is he supposed to throw another fit and demand a trade? If he did how would that make him a better player and teammate for the Bears?

Bears4Ever_34
Colston or Nicks from Saints.. cant franchise 'em both They might have to franchise Brees. From what's been said, it sounds like that's the route it might end up going which would be a big plus for us. Although I'm pretty sure Nicks will just re-sign with the Saints once Brees is franchised.
