Ed Hochuli 3:16
1. The Bears are going to make a serious push at Vincent Jackson. While you might be saying "wow, what a great source you have," it's believed to be a potential upset inside the Bears organization if he doesn't end up as a Bear. They're going to make every effort to have him wearing a Bears jersey next year. 2. This isn't really anything new, but they probably won't be making a push for Mario Williams. Their goal is to add a former 3-4 OLB, like Kamerion Wimbley, as the DE opposite of Peppers, sign Jackson, and go after a veteran OL in FA. Wimbley made a little more than $9m last year, so look for his deal with the Bears (if he signs here) to be around $7.5m. 3. Don't be surprised if the Bears still take a WR with the 19th pick, although it's possible that they still may go DE at 19, even if they sign Wimbley, because they are all well aware of Idonije's down year in 2011. 4. Although reports came out today that said otherwise, people all over the league believe Peyton Manning will be going to the Redskins soon. However, with so many other teams in play for Manning, don't hold me to this one. Again, I've been wrong before, but I enjoy sharing this stuff with you guys, so believe what you'd like and we'll see what happens soon. My source in New Orleans tells me: Manning will not play for Shanahan. He wants to be able to run his offense, which leads to Arizona with Wisenhunt. Also, Manning wants to avoid extra games outdoors. If Arz balks, then it's Miami where he has a home and teammate Reggie Wayne is looking to play there too. Bears4Ever_34
Awesome. I can dig Kameron Wimbley. He's a baller. I'm honestly not sure who I would favor between Colston and Jackson. Both players have their flaws. I myself would rather have Colston but I'm not 100% on that.
DABEARSDABOMB
FA OL, FA WR (VJAX), and FA DE (Wimbley). Sign me up. Add a wideout in the 1st. I'd be exstatic if the above came true.

I'm almost willing to bet Manning will not be a Redskin. I think it's Miami or the Jets. Keep in mind Jim Caldwell and Tom Moore are now with the Jets. Pixote
When is the last time we had a WR who looked like a LB? I hope this guy is not on Steroids. He looks like a monster WR, just what we are looking for.

They're going to make every effort to have him wearing a Bears jersey next year. Right after the combine on WGN Sport's Central one of their insiders guaranteed V-Jack to the Bears. Said it was a done deal. A lot of negotiating goes on at the combine. When we got Peppers, that was probably done a week in advance. We know V-Jack can play in Soldier Field in November. 2. I just hope we take the best player. That's cliche' but it's true. If we sign V-Jack that will give us flexibility 4. That would be great to get them two, but I dont understand your statement(Their goal is to add a former 3-4 OLB) Why are they limiting themselfs to a FORMER OLB. Are your saying they want Wimbley or you just think they want him?

bradjock
I think it makes sense to a degree in that they want a pure pass rusher on the other end of Julius. That's what I thought it meant. Not necessarily a former 3-4 lineman, but a smaller passing situation DE. When Mark Anderson was drafted, he was projected as a 3-4 linebacker. His rookie season the Bears had the lead most of the time and he register 12 sacks, mostly on passing situations. The next year we tried to make him an every down DE and all teams did was run at him. He finally excelled this year in New Englands scheme. I think we're happy with Idonije against the run but we need someone with more explosion. Getting a 3rd down specialist is a cheap alternative. That would be awesome, VJack would immediately become one of the best WR's in franchise history 2. That would be awesome, I like Wimbley and he would be a great compliment to Peppers 3. I would like BPA at 19, OL, WR, CB, or DT 4. Redskins seem like an odd destination for Manning. In the NFC, team is not that good, and he would play Eli twice a year. Wesson44
1. We need both Vincent Jackson (WR) and Kamerion Wimbley (DE), also if we could sign Courtland Finnegan (CB) and D Bell (OT) from the Bills and draft either WR Floyd/Hill and trade back up and get Barron (FS) we will be back in the playoffs again. Oh yes keeping(signing Forte) Jennings, Graham, Okoye cutting ....letting go Bowman,Merriweather, Wooton, R. Williams

Williams I would love that but I dont think we have the money to pay all 4 of those players. Maybe 2 of the first three, but not all three. Courtland will be the highest paid CB out there, and Wimbley wont come cheap. Those would take VJ 12 mil a year, Courtland 6 to 8 mil, Wimbley 6 to 9 mil and Bell 4 to 5 mil. I think we could afford VJ and Bell and will have to go second tier for DE and CB.
AZ54
If we sign VJack and Wimbley that would be a great start to the offseason. If top OT are gone in rd 1 then drop back a few spots and pick up WR Hill. Let Bennett handle the #2 role while Hill learns his craft and when you go 4 wide teams will have to defend VJack and Hill outside with Hester and Bennett working from inside.
