Pixote
I have always had a TV Package with NFL Network. I am thinking of downgrading my services as it is just too expensive. The package I am looking at does not have NFL Network. I will miss watching these games as they are generally good match-ups. However, my main concern is the Bears game with the Packers in week 2 on Thursday Night Football. I cannot remember, the Bears games in the Chicago area, if they are on Thursday Night Football on NFL Network are they also broadcasted on the local TV Affiliate? Anyone in the Chicago area that can answer that question for me I would appreciate some feedback. I am really strapped for money right now and may have no option but downgrade services. I sell event tickets online, including all sports events and concerts, but sales are slow.

bradjock
If you live in the Chicago area and keep basic cable, you can watch the Thursday night games on TBS or TNT (I can't remember which one). Prior to a year or two ago, you had to have NFL Network but now they broadcast them locally. I live 180+ miles south west of soldier field near Peoria and I get it through my basic cable. Before this, I remember being glued to my radio for the Thursday night games. I don't think we would see a NY vs. Dallas mathup on Thursday without NFL Network but you should be good with the Bears. Pixote
Thanks guys for confirming that. The new channel lineup I will receive when I downgrade this Tuesday will include TBS & TNT. I was thinking that I remembered the Chicago Games on the local Fox channel when telecast on NFL Network, which I will also receive, but just could not remember. lemonej
Last year the Bears Thurs Nite game was broadcast on WPWR channel 50 or channel 8 on Comcast.Last year I didn't have cable last year but was able to watch the game on free TV. I'm not so sure what channel the MNF games came on but I believe it was WLS channel 7. If you have a digital TV you'll just need a antenna for the no cable option. Non digital TVs need a converter box to get the over the air signal. Last season I didn't miss a game and was able towatch the Thurs and Mon Nite games.
