madlithuanian
It just seems to me, the following are things are bad trends that seem to have no end in sight... 1. We can't beat Green Bay. One out of the 9 last attempts is beyond dismal 2. We have a hard time beating good teams. Seems like when we go against a really good team, we tend to play our worst. Whether is the Giants, SF, Green Bay, NE, NO...granted, most teams struggle against good teams. But good teams beat good teams often enough. We can beat up on the Colts, Vikings, Rams...but when it comes to a good team, I think our record is really awful. 3. We play poor at night it seems. We did win a couple last year. But damn if it just doesn't seem we play our absolute worst at night. And probably more often than not. I fear a loss to Dallas now on 10/1 in Dallas. Against the Lions on 10/22. Against the Texans on 11/11. Against SF on 11/19. I'm preparing for all losses. I see the season playing out as such... IND - W GB - L ******* STL - W DAL - L JAC- W DET (night) - L CAR - W TEN - W HOU - L SF - L MIN - W SEA - W MIN - W GB (can't beat them) - L AZ - W DET (road) - L 9-7, potential wild card
chitownman
With the way the team is playing and has played I would have to agree with you Mad. The additional problem as well is the lack of talent on the offensive line and truthfully as much as I thought Lovie Smith was a good hire initially, the way this team continues to be inconsistent proves otherwise. Heck, I am even questioning Dave Toub as a Special Teams guru. Yes I agree that Toub does not have the personnel that was there in the past yet, it just seems that something has been missing the last couple of seasons in regards to coverages. I still think Gould is one of the best kickers in the NFL today and Podlesh seems to be a pretty good punter. I am not sure that 9-7 will even be good enough to get into the playoffs this season. Looking at the NFC as to who I think will make it at this point, I would have to say Green Bay (as much as I hate to) San Francisco, Atlanta and probably the Giants as division winners. The wild card teams may be Dallas, Washington, Detroit with being real close and needing a break here or there; Chicago, Tampa, Philadelphia and maybe New Orleans. Until the Bears show a bit more and I understand about Prime Time games for the Bears yet, I still am smarting from the colossal egg from the "O" and some of the "D" and Special Teams the other night. Time will tell for sure however, I think it is time to be ado to Lovie Smith and Company.
