ASHKUM BEAR
Obviously, which is silly IMO. If they add speedy talents like SMC and Ogletree to the LB core AND had guys like Melton and Peppers getting to the QB don't ya think that makes the defense all the more scary? You can still use Briggs and Roach in coverage (and let them attack at times, switch it up so they don't know who's coming). Lovies thought of only using the front 4 worked pretty good. We did mix it up by sending briggs often, along with the nickle cb and also the safety. If the front 4 are getting it done, that leaves the remaining 7 to take the ball away which we were great at. The new read option gave us fits as once the qb rolls out of the pocket, the gap responsibility is widened and hard to control. If the nfl continues that route, I would think a 3-4 would be better suited to attack that.

If we switched to a 3-4 then i hope the 3 down lineman could create enough pressure where they don't need to bring extra rushers. This would allow more ppl in covg to shut things down
jason
You mean teams you have to beat to win a super bowl?? So you're saying they fed on weaker teams which to jasons point makes the teams success on defense somewhat of an aberration. DING! DING! DING!
