Ed Hochuli 3:16
Bears sign blocking TE Steve Maneri to a 2 year deal. Fun fact: he's Blake Costanzo's cousin.
dawhizz
Less fun fact: He doesn't play LB.
jason
Unless it's purely about the couple hundred $K, the move to not resign Spaeth and to pick up this guy is stupid.
Alaskan Grizzly
Unless it's purely about the couple hundred $K, the move to not resign Spaeth and to pick up this guy is stupid. Naw, not completley stupid. He probably did save the team money. He's an on again, off again TE with Tackle experience. Could be worthwhile. And he went to Temple....like Rodriguez...for whatever that's worth.

They're obviously working on a tight budget with Urlacher and now this. Maneri from what I read is probably on the level or a notch below Spaeth as far as blocking goes. Yeah, because the Chiefs and their horrible offense and miserable team are the bastion of intelligent coaching decisions. ParkerBear7
Unfortunately if he has a play like that this year he will be probably receive a 15 yd penalty for roughing the defender.

AZ54
Take the $500k in savings and use it to help sign a FA LB.
