madlithuanian
Yeah, that's Mikey. If I didn't want to keep it intact, I'd have Sharpied his mug off there! I think I had the "garage photo" at one time. It might still be in storage somewhere. Need a 'man cave' to adorn. I might be able still name about half the guys on that one. Isn't that one of the McCaskey's down on the middle right with the gray suit?
madlithuanian
I thought it was '86. I knew Bell was back, but I thought Harris left. My recollection appears off. This seems to confirm that... http://www.footballdb.com/teams/nfl/chicag...ars/roster/1986 Note that Todd Bell (#25) and Al Harris (#90) are in this photo so this isn't the Superbowl Team. The link to BearsHistory.com suggests this is 86 but I thought only one of those two came back after the Superbowl. I'm probably just forgetting. They were both on the 84 team but Butthead and Fridge weren't. I can name almost all of these players! I'm 48.
lemonej
Odd, MadLith and are of kindred age. I too am 43 (if I recall correctly). Seeing Lemonej post about his being able to watch Sayers and Butkus reminds me of a time my Grandfather asked us if we wanted to go watch the Bulls play. I was pretty young at the time. Anyhow, he said they have this new kid "Gordon or Jordan or something rather that is supposed to be pretty good.". Man was he wrong. LOL Anyhow a few photos that take me back to the 'good ol' days'. If I'm not mistaken, and without the help of Google I might add, I believe I can name all the players in this pic (on the right). Starting from the top left and working clockwise: FS Gary Fencik, DT/RB William "Refrigerator" Perry, DE Richard "Sackman" Dent, LB Otis Wilson, Backup QB Steve Fuller, LB "Samurai" Mike Singletary, QB Jim McMahon, SWEETNESS (need not say more), WR Willie Gault and CB Reggie Phillips (I think). The one guy in question is #27 "LA" Mike Richardson and the LA comes via Buddy Ryan who deemed him lazy ass. He has since leaving the league has been in and out of jail. Reggie Phillips wore number 48 and actually was a rookie that year.

This seems to confirm that... http://www.footballdb.com/teams/nfl/chicag...ars/roster/1986 Odd thing is, I think #21 is Leslie Frazier and he wasn't on the roster in 86. It sure looks like him too so unless they had a different #21 on the roster in 86, they must've had him in camp after he tore his knee up in SB XX and then cut him after this photo was taken. madlithuanian
Maybe he started camp with them like you said? Odd thing is, I think #21 is Leslie Frazier and he wasn't on the roster in 86. madlithuanian
Who had a nice SB play on top of that! I think it was a pick 6... Reggie Phillips wore number 48 and actually was a rookie that year.
CrackerDog
Maybe he started camp with them like you said? Yeah, there's 52 numbered players in that photo and I think the maximum roster size was smaller than that in 1986.

Speaking of Leslie Frazier, the one thing that I always like to bring up to people to add to the "brag factor" for the Bears is all the current and recent HC's in the NFL today that were in this picture or came soon after. Frazier, Singletary, Rivera and Harbaugh to name a few.

This particular thread is a good one because of the historic rememberance associated.

CrackerDog
Did anyone else have this magazine? I think I may still have it in the bottom of some drawer somewhere. It's from 1983.
