AZ54
Both Webb and Britton looked bad at times. Hard to pinpoint who has the upper hand here. Might be why we're hearing that Mills could be getting some looks at RT. One thing is clear: This is now a competition.

My only issue is didn't Mills have two holding penalties Friday night? He didn't exactly look stellar. I hope Jonathon Scott gets back quickly. AZ54
Now it's officially a competition: http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...st-team-rt.html I don't know if Mills is the answer but at least he's young and so far seems to be improving. We'll see how he handles the week of practice and game reps. At least for Mills he'll not be moved around for the first time at practice so perhaps that will help him. For the moment it appears Britton is only in the competition to be our backup OT. I'm not surprised at Webb's reaction as this is typical from him: "Webb only played 10 snaps against the Panthers, but he said that was more than enough to show what he can do. He said the coaches didn’t express any disappointment and that he wasn’t disappointed about working with the second team." Mills has a lot of learning to do and the coaches put the defensive stud DE opposite him to test him early: “First time going against [defensive end Julius] Peppers — he’s great,” Mills said. “You line up against somebody who’s the same height as me but way faster and way stronger and just go at it with him. It was great.”

Its all in Webbs head, he just doesnt have the right attitude to play in this league. If Scott gets healthy, I am not sure he even makes the squad at the beginning of the season. As much as I don't like Webb I have hard time believing he doesn't make the team. Mills wasnt very good either and if he starts at RT come regular season it just tells me how bad Webb is. All off season we kept hearing how Webb is getting better and how he really only struggles against speed rushers so it was extremely disappointing to see Webb get pushed around on that sack because he lost his base and then on the very nxt play he stopped moving his feet which is why he never laid a finger on the guy. I know in high school the OL are told to make sure your feet are always moving. Now its very clear its a real competition, for better or worse who knows. But because its a clear competition now I am at least happy
