AZ54
Webb showing up here is not a surprise but the line on Williams is. Either the injury is more serious than we've been led to believe or our young LBs are playing that well. I find it hard to see that much confidence in the rookies after just one game. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100000022...s-on-nfl-bubble Just like two of the players above, Webb plays for a first-time NFL head coach. And new bosses want new players. Webb has lived off his potential for a while, but his potential slip out of the starting lineup could take him off the roster. Another potential surprise in Chicago: Keep an eye on linebacker D.J. Williams if he can't get healthy.
dawhizz
I don't buy it. He's on a relatively cheap contract and can play any of the three LB spots, which is invaluable considering the lack of depth the Bears have there. Even if he doesn't win the MLB spot, unless he's an IR candidate, I don't see how he gets cut outright.
DABEARSDABOMB
No way. He's got a cheap contract and can play all 3 LB positions. Completely agree with Dawhizz!
ChileBear
No way. He's got a cheap contract and can play all 3 LB positions. Completely agree with Dawhizz! Yeah, he's just hurt. They'll keep him.
CrackerDog
The article makes it pretty clear his getting cut would be related to his health. In that regard, that comment could apply to pretty close to 100% of the non-star players in the league. What point would there be in the Bears placing him on IR and paying him? Pretty silly for the author to even bring it up, IMO.
bowlingtwig
Yeah, he's just hurt. They'll keep him. Yeah I agree. Unless he's gonna miss 3-4 months I just can't see it. I think this is case of over reacting. Which we all know the media does all the time
Bears4Ever_34
DJ isn't going anywhere unless he's out for the season or gets suspended. With all the injuries going around the league this year, I'd rather not just cut a guy who has actual value. I'm pretty excited to see him get healthy and get out there.
