Wesson44
I love that response from Mr.Allen!!!!! Now the powers that be have stated the roster is not done yet and he also said that they are looking at safety in FA and the draft. So with that in mind who would be the best player for our defense? scs787
Champ Bailey, who has said he's willing to move to safety, is about the only somewhat intriguing possibility left in FA. Thomas Decoud might be interesting as well. I was reading that the Falcons switched from a zone/area type defense in 2012 to a more aggressive secondary last year. Decoud was a Pro Bowler in that zone type D so if the Bears continue to run the cover 2 he could return to his former pro bowl status. As far as the draft goes, the 2 obvious guys are HaHa and Pryor, but I get the feeling they are gonna wait till around the 3rd round to grab their guy. In which case Terrance Brooks and Ed Reynolds make the most sense from a coverage perspective. I also really like LaMarcus Joyner, but I know some here probably won't like the fact that he's only 5'8". I look at Honey Badger(5'9") and Bob Sanders(5'8" 2x pro bowler/Defensive player of the year) as players his size who have been difference makers, and guys he compares to in both size and athleticism. Guest TerraTor
As an fsu fan. I can vouch for Joyner. He was the leader and QB of the defense.

The problem with his size is not that he wouldnt be a playmaker but more of the durability issue.People rarely have long careers at saftey when undersized, so it just is a higher risk factor.
