Check out some players, Im painting my kitchen and it bores me so I found this site. http://draftbreakdown.com/video Was watching my two favorite players Pryor and Donald, Pryor isnt perfect at S but he sure is an aggressive guy, not as good, but reminds me of Troy P. Also just noticed, Donald gets manhandled in the run game, but can sure go after QBs. I am starting to think, he may be to small to be an every down DT. Clinton-Dix is my #1 guy at the moment because I love his ball hawking ability to cover so much ground, but I also love Pyror's presence as a hard hitting safety. I have just re-read Jack Tatum's book and he notes that his primary job was really to strike fear in the other teams receivers....maybe that is different nowadays with the rule changes but I don't think so really.....I would love to have a good hard hitting guy back there who can also cover and who could take care of running backs too. But Safety and Mlb is biggest need We've seen a lot of 285lb DTs in the NFL that haven't faired well but we haven't seen a lot of them that can run a 4.68 forty and his 3-cone time was only beaten by 3 DEs. Plus there is only 1 other DT in the top 15 of the 3-cone drill times among Dlinemen. Donald is not perfect and that is the only reason he may still be available at #14. He may be capable of 10 sacks per year up the middle not to mention the pressures that would also be there to force plays to be shorter. He might also give up 4yds per rush too. In the NFL it is the big plays for a loss that get you off the field and I think Donald can contribute more of them than any other DT in this draft. Also when he starts making NFL money it's very likely he can bulk up a bit while still maintaining that top level explosiveness. Plus at his height that 285 is distributed about the same as a 6'2" 300 pound man(Jernigan) or a 6'6" 311 pound man(Hageman), so as far as being a wide body to stop the run it's not like he's a bean pole. Watching some of his highlights he's getting "Manhandled" by double teams, which is to be expected by most any DT in the league. If he's forcing double teams at the next level that's fantastic because it gives everyone else 1 on 1 matchups and it frees up our LBs to roam free. Then there's of course the article I posted a few weeks ago that took a look at some of the drafts DTs. They took a look at every snap played by Hageman, Jernigan, Sutton, and Donald. Against the run Jernigan was the best with an efficient tackle (A tackle made within 3 yards of the LOS) every 7.24 snaps. Aaron Donald came in 2nd with a eff tackle every 9.41. Hageman had one every 11 and Sutton had one every 14....So, he was nearly on par with Timmy Jernigan who is the best run stuffer in the draft. Continuing on with his positive showing so far, Aaron Donald comes in at second among the first group of DTs, impacting the run game once every 9.4 snaps.
